Hôpital Dr Frédéric Dugoujon

The geriatric hospital Dr Frédéric Dugoujon is located in Caluire, close to Lyon and to Croix-Rousse hospital. It owns three buildings and a listed chapel, built within a one-hectare wooded park.

Initially, it was a nursing home offering innovative care and participating to the birth and development of the geriatric discipline. Between 1978 and 1980, the establishment progressively evolves into a hospital service and pursues its modernization.

Today, this geriatric establishment, well implemented in the city, offers proximity care for the local population and a facilitated access to specialized advices of Croix-Rousse hospital.

Its geriatric activity is articulated around:

  • an sector of conventional hospitalization, rehabilitation et re-adaptation of elderly people
  • an outpatient sector, open towards the city, that offers:
    • a labeled memory consultation, a geriatric consultation and checkups
    • a mobile team that is going to the patients’ house, on request of their town doctors, to facilitate the access to geriatric care
  • a hosting sector for long-time care to welcome highly dependent patients
